A cold light source Kruss is an external illumination for microscopes or spectroscopes. Due to the significantly reduced content of infrared light, the sample practically does not heat up. This is important for living biological samples that can be killed by the heat of halogen lighting. In gemology, cold light sources are used, since objects of complex shape can be illuminated accurately and without shadows using a two-beam light guide.
